Addiction Therapy
Holistic therapy for addiction focuses on recovery methods that are non-medicinal and are intended to work along with traditional treatments offered by addiction treatment and rehabilitation centers. The centers that focus on a holistic approach to addiction treatment will often include practices like Tai Chi, guided meditation, and/or yoga as a part of addiction recovery, for example.
Additionally, acupuncture, massage therapy, exercise, and a focus on proper nutrition are often a part of a holistic therapy treatment plan for addiction. The intent is to develop a successful path to sustained recovery that features a personalized, guided plan to focus on the mental and emotional effects of addiction while helping with the physical effects of addiction, withdrawal, and recovery.
The overall intent of a holistic approach to recovery is to
- Promote & increase self-confidence and self-awareness
- Identify the underlying factors of the cause for the addiction
- Fortify the strengths to resist craving & reduce the want of drugs and alcohol
- Promote nutrition and physical fitness and a health-focused lifestyle
